What We Know About Brain Injuries:

Every 9 seconds, someone in the U.S. sustains a brain injury.
An average of 62,000 children sustain a brain injury that requires hospitalization
Fewer than 1 in 20 people with traumatic brain injuries get the rehabilitation they need.

Boys

Boys are 1.5 times more likely to sustain a traumatic brain injury, with boys 0-4 years of age having the highest incident rates of all pediatric patients.

In high school and collegiate athletics, girls have higher concussion rates than boys in sports played by both sexes.
